The stripped grizzly hackle mosquito is an excellent imitation of an adult callibaetis or spinner here in my home waters of Idaho and Oregon. I just returned from a trip to some alpine lakes and the mosquito was the fly for me.
I think my first “go-to” fly was the Adams or it’s variant the Adams female
