Good read. I have to admit, fly shops rip us on bead chain. I get mine from the local hardware store, however, the selection is lacking. Thanks for the good info.

I could swear I’ve seen that but I can’t remember where. I’m still looking for the “best” source for ball chain – I’m still digging …

It seems that “dogtags” and ball chain are interlinked. The manufacturers sell it by the spool – and the dogtag makers sell it by the 18″ necklace, complete with connectors.

Check the bottom of this page …it doesn’t specify whether it’s rope or plastic connecting the beads.

Hey, do you have a source for white plastic chain with a rope core and a wee bit more space between balls than your average chain? I’ve used them recently for floating patterns and the rope core allows you to marker what’s left after it’s cut off, and it creates a nice looking pupil.
