Light pollution can be added to the long list of pollutions that we’ve introduced to the pristine water. Recent studies have shown that polarized light from dark shiny objects can produce a better representation of water than water itself. As rural gives way to urban, insect populations suffer proportionally to the presence of polarizing dark surfaces. Would you be willing to walk farther for a better hatch?
